Dolomitic Lime

When plants need both calcium and magnesium, MK’s Dolomitic Lime is a great way to get these important nutrients right where they are needed. Dolomitic Lime is a natural source for both of these minerals, and not found in most fertilizers. Magnesium plays a key role in the photosynthesis process of plants and is vital in the overall systems of plant growth. Calcium helps build and strengthen the plant’s cell walls.

Hi-Calcium Lime

MK’s High Calcium Pelletized Lime provides high levels of calcium to the soil in order to combat acidity within the soil. At MK, we pulverize our mined limestone into a fine powder before pelletizing it to allow for rapid release upon usage.

Hi-Cal Lime is an extremely pure form of calcium carbonate that is low in magnesium.  With our manufacturing process, high ECC levels are achieved resulting in pH modification in the first application year.

  • Calcium (Ca): 33%
  • Magnesium (Mg): 0.7%
  • Calcium Carbonate Equivalent: 86%
  • Magnesium Carbonate: 2%
  • Moisture (Maximum): 1%
  • Utilizing pelletized lime, managing different zones can be achieved w/ a high level of accuracy. i.e.
    • Zosia fairways vs. fescue roughs
    • High vs. low management zones
    • Customer’s pet friendly areas vs. non-pet areas.
  • Results in first application year.
  • Proper soil pH results in healthy soil biology, resulting in reduced need to mechanically manage thatch.
  • Soil pH between 6.0 and 6.8 results in improved nitrogen efficiency resulting in darker green color, improved summer heat/drought tolerance and reduced winter desiccation.
  • Proper soil pH allows for improved herbicide efficacy, resulting in both better weed control and reduced pesticide usage.
  • With magnesium levels <1%, you can be assured already compacted turf areas will not be made worse with magnesium additions.

Gypsum

MK’s Cal-Sul Gypsum is an excellent source of calcium and sulfur for plants and soil alike. Using pelletized gypsum helps improve soil structure, allows for increases in oxygen and water penetration, removes residual salt from effluent water and repairs salt damage caused by winter de-icing and pets.

Pelletized Gypsum is a naturally mined gypsum coming from one of the purest calcium sulfate dihydrate mines in North America.  Pelletized gypsum is a soluble form of both calcium and sulfur, providing a season long supply of both minerals.

  • Calcium (Ca): 21%
  • Sulfur (S): 15%
  • Calcium Sulfate (CaSo4): 68%
  • Moisture (Maximum): 1%
  • Calcium sulfate dihydrate is the most soluble form of gypsum vs. other pelletized gypsum which is comprised of calcium sulfate monohydrate.
  • The dihydrate form provides superior soil amendment properties over the monohydrate form.
  • Gypsum provides more consistent release of sulfur throughout the season over other products.
  • Will not “burn” turf in adverse conditions.
    • Suitable for application any time of yeaer.
  • Naturally mined, not from synthesized source, reducing chance of heavy metal exposure.

  • Magnesium Oxide (MgO): 17%
  • Moisture (Maximum): 1%
  • Magnesium is necessary in sand modified growing medias that lack the required magnesium levels for plant development.
  • Utilizing pelletized lime, managing different zones can be achieved w/ a high level of accuracy.  i.e.
    • Golf Greens vs. fairways
  • Results in first application year
  • Proper soil pH results in healthy soil biology, resulting in reduced need to mechanically manage thatch.
